Control the ProcessYou Need Your Questions Answered Questions to Ask Coaches: • Does the school offer me the opportunity to explore several academic options? • How many hours a day/week will the lacrosse program require? • Will the Lacrosse program support my academic efforts with study hall and tutoring? • How much does the school cost? • What is the program’s style of play? • How many players will be returning lettermen on the Lacrosse Team? • What kind of scholarships (academic or other) are available to me? • How effective is the school/academic program in job placement? • How effective is the school/academic program in graduate school placement? • What do you seem my future role with the program?
Control the ProcessYou Need to ANSWER your own Questions Questions to Ask YOU: • Academic reputation and rating of school? • Does the school offer my major of choice? • Will my parents be able to see me often and attend games? • Do I think I would enjoy playing for the coach that recruited me? • Do I feel comfortable with the campus and surrounding community? • Do I feel comfortable with the size of the campus and the student body? • How do I feel about the athletic facilities? • Did the coach provide an informative and personalized campus visit? • Did the coach/academic program address my specific needs during the recruiting process? • Has the coach addressed my future role with the program and am I happy with this role? • What do present/former students say about their college experience? • Does my high school coach believe I can compete at this level? • Is this a place where I would like to spend four years?

When and What? • Rising Freshman (Class of 2018) – GET READY!! • Rising Sophomores (Class of 2017) • STUDY!! • Focus on about 30-50 Schools (Academics, APL, Ranging from Reach-to-Reality) • Speak to HS Coach and Club coach about you’re A.P.L. • Prepare Resume and Video (Varsity game video or Club Video---Try to stay away from JV video) • Email Coaches (Link to video and Attach Resume) • Visit Campuses on your way to/from tournaments and vacations • Prepare for Standardize tests • Attend Clinics or Prospect events at the high end of your list • Get Started on your NCAA Clearing House Information/Profile- www.eligibilitycenter.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Rising Juniors (Class of 2016) • Continue to STUDY!! • Narrowto about 10-20 Schools (based on Academics, APL, and who has shown interest) • Again Speak to Coaches about you’re A.P.L. • Update Resume and Video (Varsity game video or Club Video---NO JV VIDEO) • Email Coaches about tournaments and events you are playing in. (Senior Year COUNTS) • Narrow to about 3-5 Schools (based on Academics, APL, and who has shown MOST interest) . • Update Resume and Video (Varsity game video or Club Video) • Email Coaches about tournaments and events you are playing in. (Link to update video and Attach Updated Resume) • Start planning your Official Visits • Re-Take SAT or ACT or SAT II (Can only improve your situation, it will NEVER hurt) • Update your NCAA Clearing House Information/Profile - www.eligibilitycenter.org • Always pick up the phone and call a coach!! • Ask direct Questions about how you fit in their program.
