Academic Journey • Based on Term 1 results, P/VP will meet with parents of pupils who are very far behind • Term 1 results and Targets for the year will be given out in the first week of Term 2 • There will be a workshop for parents in Term 2 • Mid-yr Exam in Term 2 to gauge progress of pupils • MTP at the end of Term 2 to update parents about progress

Creating a Scaffold for Progress • Each student will be given an initial target grade for all subjects he or she offers • The initial targets are set for a student based on his or her PSLE results and our school’s performance in National Examinations • Once a target is reached, the teachers and parents can revise the target upwards
Performance – tracking progress • Students enter their targets into their school diary. After every test, the students compare their results against their targets to keep track of their performance • Teachers use class contact time and other times to discuss with the students on their targets and guide the students to work towards achieving them

Coursework – Quality work, Meeting deadlines • Tuesday afternoons have been set aside for pupils who need to catch up on their coursework • Sufficient time needs to be devoted to the fabrication of the artifact • Fabrication will begin immediately after the mid-year exams and continue into the June holidays
GCE MTL Exam (30 May 11) • Mock Examination before Mid-year Exams to familiarize pupils with the format of the exam paper • Special revision programme “Sprint to the Finish” in Week 10 of Term 2 to prepare pupils for the GCE O Level Exam on 30 May 11
Extension of Curriculum Time on Monday • Current situation – insufficient time for Humanities and Maths Dept who share Monday afternoon for remedials • Solution – we will extend curriculum time on Monday afternoon beginning from Term 2 Week 1 • We will be writing to your parents this week to give you time to adjust your schedules • Everyone is expected to stay. Your CCA teacher will inform you on the revised time to report if you have CCA after lessons
Leadership Journey • Beginning from Term 2 Week 2, graduating pupils will begin to hand over CCA duties • Remain fully committed for those who still have competitions • CCA teachers will announce when you can stop attending CCAs • Completion of NYAA Bronze
