PaITuli – geospatial data service • Downloading service of geospatial data sets for Finnish universities and polytechnics • Data is allowed to use for research and education • Web application with map UI • MapServer • HTML + JavaScript • Part of CSC’sextranetservice • First version launched 2007 • Renewed 2009 • Now a service in HAKA federation

  4. PaITuli – data sets • Currently includes data sets from: • National Land Survey of Finland • Finnish Road Administration • Geological Survey of Finland • Finnish Meteorological Institute • National Board of Antiquities • 27 different data sets • Some with temporal subsets • altogether 530 GB

Finnish radio- and TV archive (RTVA) • National audiovisual archive (KAVA) has a mandate to archive radio and TV broadcasts in Finland • The law of storing and preserving cultural material (Lakikulttuuriaineistojentallettamisestajasäilyttämisestä 1433/2007) (came into operation January 1st 2008) • In development KAVA uses subcontractors • CSC’s role is • Act as a technical integrator • Build a storage and VoD subsystems • Maintain the system in production phase • RTVA systemwilllaunced at end of 2009 • Moredetailswillbepublished at sametime
