  7. CENTURY How many years is ONE century? 100 YEARS!

  8. Time Span A time span is how many years in a timeline. SUBTRACT the BEGINNING date from the ENDING date. Shakespeare writes Romeo and Juliet 1595 da Vinci paints Mona Lisa 1505 1450 1600 1492 Columbus arrives in the New World 1519 Magellan sails around the world

  9. Create a timeline • Create a timeline of YOUR life. • Include the following: • A title across the top of the timeline • The year you were born • The current year • Important events and dates of things that have happened in between • Include at least one future event (graduation, college, etc)

  10. Early Humans • Archeology – Study of evidence of humans. • Anthropology – Study of human relationships • Artifacts – Weapons, tools, and things made by humans • Fossils – Traces of plants and animals preserved in rocks.

  11. Sources Primary Source – a person who SAW a historical event happen. Secondary Source – a person who was NOT there but wrote about a historical event.
