  1. Welcome We're So Glad You're Here

  2. Prelude 2 Part Invention in F by JS Bach

  3. Call to Worship

  4. Liturgist: We who gather here come with hopes and expectations. We all do. Some of these are the same or similar, some vastly different. Some are changing at this very moment.

  5. All: Yet, we share the hope that in all the ways we see the world and look for the best, similarities and differences aside - we aspire first and foremost to love and trust in God, serving others, as best we can.

  6. We gather then, in this hope and this love and more, in this place where all hopes lead us to prayer and worship.

  7. Opening Hymn NCH #474 I’m So Glad Jesus Lifted Me

  8. I'm so glad, Jesus lifted me, I'm so glad, Jesus lifted me, I'm so glad, Jesus lifted me, singing glory, hallelujah, Jesus lifted me.

  9. Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me, Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me, Satan had me bound, Jesus lifted me, singing glory, hallelujah, Jesus lifted me.

  10. When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me, when I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me, when I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me, singing glory, hallelujah, Jesus lifted me.

  12. Unison Prayer Recreation of and old-time African American preacher’s sermon on Creation, by American poet James Weldon Johnson.

  13. And God stepped out on space, And God looked around and said: I’m lonely— I’ll make me a world. And as far as the eye of God could see Darkness covered everything. Blacker that a hundred midnights Down in a cypress swamp.

  14. Then God smiled, And the light broke, And the darkness rolled up one side And the light stood shining on the other, And God said, That’s good!

  15. Then God reached out and took the light in God’s hands, And God rolled the light around in God’s hands Until God made the sun; And God set that sun a-blazing in the heavens. And the light that was left from making the sun

  16. God gathered it up in a shining ball And flung it against the darkness, Spangling the night with moon and stars. Then down between The darkness and the light God hurled the world And God said: That’s good.
