My expectations of each and everyone of you! • Why? Because I believe in you! • I know you are ALL smart, and never want to hear differently. • You can do anything you try. • “I can’t” is the acronym for “I Completely Admit I’m Not Trying.”
How will I be graded? 60% or 40%

Guideline #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bellwork when the tardy bell rings.
Mme Panter’s Français Café À la Carte 3 septembre Bellwork: What are you most looking forward to this school year? What are you most looking forward to doing in this class? Objectives: Students will learn classroom procedures and guidelines. L’horaire du Jour: • 1. Bellwork, attendance, hand in homework • Review classroom procedures • Rehearse classroom procedures
Guideline #2 Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.
Guideline #3 Follow directions the first time they are given.
Guideline #4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.
Guideline #5 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the NBC handbooks.
Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please respect the “No Whining Zone” this semester.

Severe Actions Any student who fights, is extremely disrespectful (as defined by the teacher), or commits a serious offense, will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.
Entering the Room • Please enter quietly. • Have a seat. • Take out your materials. • Review the agenda. • Begin bellwork assignment.
When you are tardy . . . • Enter quietly. • Excused: Place excuse on my desk. • Unexcused: Pick up a Guideline Infraction Notice, fill in “Late” and sign. See me after class. • Have a seat and take out your materials.
Getting Your Attention I will . . . • Stand in front of the class. • Raise my hand and say “Donnez-moi cinq: un... deux…” • Wait for everyone to be quiet. • Begin speaking.
Paper Heading • MLA Format • plus unique number • Place on all homework assignments
Student Responsibility CardThis is for students who do not have the assigned homework. • Fill it out. • Sign and date it. • Turn it in with the homework papers.
Finish Classwork Early “What do I do next?”
Activities Work on unfinished French assignments. Read your “choice” French novel. Review vocabulary words. Start working on tonight’s homework.
After an Excused Absence • On-line./Pick up Absent Envelope. • Sign and date the Absence Notebook. After an Unexcused Absence • A zero will be given for work missed. • You are STILL responsible to make up the work. • Online./Pick up Absent Envelope. • Sign/date the Absence Notebook. • Make-up tests: See me after class for information.
Scheduled Check Out • Please let me know as you enter the classroom. • I will be at the door. • Quietly raise your hand to get my attention. • Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time. • If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.
Turning in Papers • Place your paper on the desk next to you. • Left side • If/When you receive a paper, place yours on top and continue passing the stack to your left. • I will come by and collect all stacks.
Classroom Discussions • PLEASE participate. • I want to hear what you have to say. • Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. • If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.
Moving Around the Room • You must ask permission. • Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency.
Class Dismissal • The teacher dismisses you, • not the bell. • Do not start packing up prior to the bell. • Wait until the teacher finishes and officially dismisses you with “Make wise choices…” “because we’re special.”
