When understood and properly controlled, chain de-grafting can reveal information about degree (and locus) of charging insight polyelectrolyte brushes (difficult to measure otherwise). Broader Impact of Education & Outreach The PI’s group has continued their involvement in summer high school camp (Raleigh, June 2011), Nanodays (Raleigh, July 2011) by preparing lecture series and lab exercises. Five NC State undergraduate students (2 female) have worked in the PI’s lab in summer 2011. Two visiting students from Zheijang University (PR China) are spending 6 weeks in the PI’s lab working on projects involving polymer assembly on surfaces. We host exchange students from Germany and Czech Republic in our lab (1 in spring 2011, 2 in fall 2011)
