(and hallelujah) • I, Kris Anderson, PI, will be offering the sermon this morning • Aquaculture is the cultivation of sea animals and plants in a controlled marine environment; underwater agriculture.   4. History • There are 5 Regional Aquaculture Centers under USDA • Center for Tropical and Subtropical Aquaculture (CTSA) established 1986 • 1988 CTSA recognized a need for information dissemination to the region PRAISE 2/04

  5. Services Offered • Research – Aquatic Sciences & Fisheries Abstracts • Document Delivery • Gray Literature Bibliography PRAISE 2/04

  6. Who Gets Served • Farmers, Researchers, and Students in the US Affiliated Pacific • Hawaii • Guam • Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas • Federated States of Micronesia • Republic of Belau (Palau) • Republic of the Marshall Islands • American Samoa • IAMSLIC PRAISE 2/04

  7. Statistics for 2003 • Requests = 513 • Citations Delivered = 3,746 • Documents Delivered = 1,095 • # Pages Delivered = 15,081 • Miscellaneous Requests = 275 PRAISE 2/04

Conclusion • We’ve successfully served the marine science community in the Pacific for 15+ years. • Scanning the Gray Literature materials is starting TODAY – we have 15 signed consent forms so far. • Funding is assured for another 2 years and support is strong from the community. PRAISE 2/04
