OUSD developed a vision to enhance and accelerate common core instruction through the addition of technology into the hands of students.
Steps to Implement OCEANSIDE 2.0 • The Ideal state: 100% of Oceanside Unified teachers at all 23 school sites prepared and effectively using mobile technologies, and supporting technologies in order to accelerate student achievement in the district • Partner with USD’s MTLC • Create a plan, including a an aggressive timeline
Gap analysis in three areas • Technology in the classroom • Infrastructure readiness • Teacher Readiness
The PLAN: Create A deployment cycle • School level readiness • Build leadership capacity of both teachers and site administrators to effectively integrate technology within OUSD (Site technology team) • Deploy teacher technology (Classroom 2.0) • Pedagogical training and site support • Readiness Benchmarks met deploy student technology • Refine and repeat in phases
