What is ? • PowerSchool is the fastest-growing, most widely used web-based student information system, supporting 10 million students in all 50 states and over 65 countries. • PowerSchool enables today's educators to make timely decisions that impact student performance while creating a collaborative environment for parents, teachers and students to work together in preparing 21st century learners for the future.
Signing in to PowerTeacher • There are different URL addresses for each of the 4 Access Groups… • Teachers https://cms.powerschool.com/teachers

Power Teacher - View Student Pages • On the PowerSchool Teacher Home page, click the backpack icon at the class whose student pages you want to view. • Choose the Class and the student you wish to find information. • Click the Last Name of the student whose record you want to view. The Student page displays the default page selected. • Choose the Select screens pop up to get other information. • Click the First Name of another student to see the same screen. • Click the Last Name of the student to see the default screen. • Click a class under Change Class to open another class. The navigation frame displays another list of students. Note: Student Demographic Information can also be viewed by clicking on their name in the PowerTeacher Gradebook.
Power Teacher- Seating Chart Attendance Teachers have the ability to create a seating chart to match the seating arrangements In their classroom.
Daily Bulletin Teachers will have the ability to view any school specific communication via the Daily Bulletin.
Power Teacher- Staff Directory • The Staff Directory displays the staff for the selected school and term. • Use the Staff Directory to filter groups of staff members according to their functions or to determine email addresses for staff members. • The Staff Directory displays staff Name, Room, email, Home # and School #.
PowerTeacher-Personalize • Allows you to Customize PowerSchool Teacher to meet your needs and preferences. • Change Password Allows you the ability to change your password. • Default Student Screen Allows you to choose how you want the student screen to appear when you open a student record.
Power Teacher- Run Reports For All Students • Generate reports for all students in your classes using the link in the navigation frame. • Select From custom and pre-configured reports. • On the PowerSchool Teacher Home page, click Reports in the navigation frame. • The Reports for All Students page displays. • From the Reports for All Students window, choose the desired report and click the Submit button. • The next screen you will see is the Report Queue. (You have entered the PowerSchool report area). • To see your finished report, you must click on the Refresh button to the right of My Jobs.
PowerTeacher-Recommendation Feature • Power Teach allows you can manage course recommendations for your students. • Course recommendations may be required as a prerequisite or they may be purely advisory. • Once a recommendation is made, it appears on the student’s Class Registration page in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

PowerTeacher- Launching the Gradebook • From the Power Teacher Start Page. • Click on Gradebook. • Click on Launch Power Teacher Gradebook. Note: Gradebook must be launched in order to create Assignments and enter Grades.
Power Teacher Gradebook Tour of the Power Teacher Gradebook Scoresheet Tab- Used to add assignments and enter grades. Assignments Tab- Used to create assignments. Student Info- Used to view student information. Grade Setup- Used to setup term, quarter, semester, exam, and year weights. Class Content- Used to view content regarding the class. Report- Used to run various reports (i.e. Student Progress). Attendance- Used to take attendance from the Gradebook. Notifications-Used to notify you of student information.

Power Teacher Gradebook Used to create categories/labels to be used for assignments within the gradebook. Used to create student groups (i.e. ESOL, SPED). Used to view classes.
Power Teacher GB - Grade Setup • Use the Grade Setup tab to specify how you want final grades to be calculated for students in your classes. • Calculation methods include total points, term weights, category weights.
Power Teacher GB - Class Content • The Class Content window displays three modes; Class Info, School Content, and My Content. • Basic class information displays in Class Info mode. • Specific information such as a document or web site link that is geared to a course, section, or teacher displays in the School Content or My Content modes. • Content links can be distributed to the School Content or My Content modes from PowerTeacher Administrator.

PowerTeacher GB – Creating Assignments From the Assignment tab, Click on the +. From the Scoresheet tab, Click on the + .
PowerTeacher GB – Copying Assignments • From the Scoresheet tab Right Click on the Assignments. • Click Copy Assignment from the dropdown menu.
PowerTeacher GB – Copying AssignmentsContinued Click the Assignments you wish to copy. Then: Click Next. Choose the Classes you wish to copy the Assignments to. Then: Click Ok.
Power Teacher GB – Auto Fill • Select a class from the Classes pane. • To enter scores for a group of students, select the group from the Student Groups pane. Otherwise, all active students display by default. • Click the Scoresheet tab. The Scoresheet Assignments window appears. • Select the assignment column header for which you want to fill scores. • To open Auto Fill from the gradebook menu bar, choose Tools > Fill Scores. The Fill Assignment Scores dialog appears. Or right click on the desired Assignment. • Choose Auto Fill from dropdown menu.
Power Teacher GB – Auto Fill Continued • Indicate whether you want to only fill empty • scores or replace all scores by selecting one of • the following options: • - Items with No Score • - Replace All • Select assignment attributes or enter a score • value. • Type desired comment. Optional • Click OK. • Right click on the desired Assignment. • Select Fill Scores from Dropdown Menu.
Power Teacher GB – Score Inspector • The Score Inspector provides an alternative way of entering scores and comments. • It also can provide information about assignments that may be turned in but not be currently graded. • It can also notify students and parents of assignments have not been turned in or turned in late. • Assignments can be flagged as Collected, Late, Exempt or Missing. To Activate Score Inspector • From the gradebook menu bar, choose Tools > Score Inspector. The Score Inspector dialog box appears. Or right click on the desired Assignment. • The dropdown menus appears choose Show Score Inspector.
Power Teacher GB – Using Score Inspector • Enter score for the assignment and/or appropriate • indicator(s). • Assignment Comments can also be include. Score Indicators and Comments can be viewed by hovering over the Indicator Icon. Score Indicators Icons: Collected, Late, Exempt, Missing
Power Teacher GB– Using Score Inspector To Override Final Grade • Select a class from the Classes pane. • Click the Scoresheet tab, then click Final Grades mode. The Scoresheet Final Grades window appears. • Choose a reporting term, week, or month from the Filter By Reporting Term pop-up menu. The Scoresheet window refreshes and displays only those assignments and scores with a due date that falls within that selected reporting term, week, or month. • Click the final grade field of the student for which you want to manually override a final grade. • From the gradebook menu bar, choose Tools > Score Inspector. • The Final Grade Score Inspector dialog displays the final grade details. • Select the Manual Override checkbox. • Enter the new percent in the Percent field, if applicable. • Enter the new letter grade in the Grade field, if applicable. • Enter final grade text in the Comment field, if applicable. • Use the Previous and Next arrows to repeat for each student, if applicable. • Click Save. The final grade appears within the selected student final grade field. Note: The final grade appears bolded, italicized, and with a red circular exclamation point (“!)”. If a comment was entered, a blue circular “ C” also appears.
Power Teacher GB – Entering Grade For Dropped Students When a student is dropped, their records do not leave your Gradebook. They are filtered out of your active student list into your dropped student list. Steps to Enter Grade for Dropped Students • Select a class from the Classes area. • In the Student Groups area, change 'Hightlight Selected' to 'Filter Selected' in the dropdown menu to see the grades for the dropped students. • Select the Dropped filter. Only dropped students will show in the Scoresheet and Students tabs and you can add/edit the records as usual. • Click Save.
Power Teacher GB – Student Management • Student Groups, allows you to adapt instruction to meet the various learning needs and readiness levels of individual students or groups of students. • Student groups are made up of a hierarchical structure: a set, groups within that set, and students within those groups. Student Groups Set Name Group Name Note: Student groups are class-specific. Therefore, you need to create student groups for each class in which you want to use student groups. Students
Power Teacher GB – Creating Student Sets The Add Group Student Set window appears. Enter the name of the set (up to 50 characters) in the Group Set Name field. Click OK. The new set appears in the Students Group pane. Repeat for each group. • Select a class from the Classes pane. • In the Student Groups pane, do one of the following: • Click the Plus(+) button and select Add Group Set. • Right-click and select Add Group Set.
Power Teacher GB – Editing Student Sets Student Group Sets can be Edited or Deleted from the Student Group pane by following these steps. • Select a class from the Classes pane. • In the Student Groups pane, select the set you want to rename. Your selection appears highlighted in blue. • Do one of the following: • Right-click and select Edit. In order to Edit the Set Name. • Right-click and select Delete. In order to Delete the Set Name. • If Editing: The Edit Student Group Set window appears. Enter the name of the set (up to 50 characters). • Click OK. The updated set appears in the Students Group pane. • If Deleting: The Delete Selected Student Group Information window appears. • Click Yes to delete the set. Note: If a set has one or more groups associated to it, the message "This set is not empty. Delete anyway?" appears. If deleting more than one set, the message "About to delete multiple sets, groups, and/or students. Continue?”
Power Teacher GB – Creating Student Groups • In the Student Groups pane, select the set or a group within the set you want to add a group to. • Your selection appears highlighted in blue. • Note: Click the arrow next to the set to expand a set and view the groups within the set. • Do one of the following: • Click the Plus (+) button and choose Add Group. • Right-click and select Add Group. The Add Student Group window appears. By default, the set or a group within the set you selected appears in the Associated Group Set pop-up menu. Note: Use the pop-up menu to choose a different set in which to add the group, if needed. Enter the name of the group (up to 50 characters) in the Group Name field. Click OK. Repeat to add additional Group Names.

Power Teacher GB – Adding Students to Groups After you have created a set and created one or more groups within a set, you can add students to a group. Note: Students can only belong to one group within a given set. Select a class from the Classes pane. In the Student Groups pane, click the expanding arrow next to the set that contains the group you want to add students to. Select the group. Your selection appears highlighted in blue. Click the Scoresheet tab. The Scoresheet window appears. Select the student you want to add. The student appears highlighted in blue. Note: Press and hold COMMAND (Mac) or CONTROL (Windows) to select multiple students. Drag and drop the student into the group. Note: If one or more students already belong to a group, the Move Students to Group window appears. Click Move Eligible to add the remaining students, click Move All to add all the students, or click Cancel.
Power Teacher GB - Student Information • The Student Info tab displays a list of students enrolled in a class and basic information about each student.
Power Teacher GB - Reports • Power Teacher gradebook offers a selection of reports to assist you in daily classroom • activities, as well as with assessing student performance. • By using the Reports tab, you can generate reports for: • all students who are enrolled in a class, • all students who are enrolled in all your classes, • a specific set, group, individual student, selection of students, or any combination.
Power Teacher GB - Final Grade & Student View Modes On the Scoresheet, use Final Grade mode to view all final grade information for the selected reporting term. You can also enter final grades for additional components and view final grade category totals for the term. The Student View mode lists all assignments on the left, and the standards across the top. Teachers can select any student to get a concise look at all of a student’s assignment and standard scores, course grades, and standards final grades, across all reporting terms. This mode was designed for analyzing a student’s performance, reviewing the calculated standards grades, and making final grades determinations. This mode is also great for parent/teacher or student/teacher conferences.
Power Teacher GB – Attendance Features Single Day View Multi-Day View Attendance can be taken for a “Single Day” or for “Multiple Days” by click on the Chair Icon in the Teacher Gradebook. As soon as Attendance been submitted; it becomes available to school administrators, parents, and students. Click on the Chair Icon, from the Teacher Gradebook. The Attendance dialog box appears. Select one of the following activities: Single Day, Multi-Day, Seating Charts, Start Page. Select the Date. Select the Current attendance code (default is Present). Click the cell next to a student’s name to assign that code. Click Submit. Note: Even if all students are present, teachers should click the Chair icon to open the attendance screen, and then click Submit. This procedure indicates that attendance has been taken.

Power Teacher GB – Notification Features • Receive real-time information regarding your students at anytime by clicking on the Notification Icon. • Information included in this module: birthday alerts, students that are added/dropped from class and your last system login.
Power Teacher GB – Parent/Student Communication Features • Allows you to send emails to an individual student/parent; group of students/parents or an entire class of students/parents. • Provide real-time feedback on assignments. • Click Tool. • Select Email Students and Parents. • Select Class or Classes you want to communicate with. • Click Next. • Select Student(s)/Parent(s). • Type the subject on the Subject Line. • Type message in the Message Box. • Click Send Now. Note: Only Parents and students with email address can be sent communication within this module.
