Areas of a Residence • A residential structure can be divided into three basic areas: • Sleeping area • Where the family sleeps, rests and bathes • Living area • Where the family relaxes, entertains guests, dines, and meets together • Service area • Part of the house where food is prepared, clothes are laundered, goods are stored, the car is parked and equipment for upkeep is stored.
