Background Road conditions are getting detioriated by constant overweighing by the vehicles on the highways increasing maintenance cost of the Concessionaire. As there is no check on the excess weight they get away with it without paying for the excess weight. We need a system which can overcome the above difficulties RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. LTD.
Weight Based Tolling Weight Based Tolling (WBT) is the perfect answer to the problem. Weighing – In – Motion (WIM) can be installed on the Toll lanes which can calculate the weight of the vehicle while it is in motion approaching the pay axis which is backed by Static Weigh Bridge installed after the Toll. Methodology Weight Based Tolling works best under Pre-Classification. • Vehicle classification by the system (AVC) should be in Pre-Classification approx 24 mtrs before pay axis • WIM should be placed in Pre-Classification approx. 22 mtrs before the pay axis. RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. LTD.
Methodology • The Toll Collector (TC) terminal should display whether the approached vehicle is overweight or not. • If approached vehicle is in permissible weight category the weight displayed on the TC terminal will be in green color. • If Approached vehicle is overweight the TC terminal will display the weight of the vehicle in red color RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. Methodology • In case of overweight vehicle the TC terminal will display the total amount to be collected • Toll receipt shall show the bifurcation ( original class fare + overload charges) RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. LTD.
Methodology • If the overweight vehicle challenges the weight the amount has to be collected by the TC as per the overload charges. • This vehicle will then have to be weighed on the Static Weigh Bridge for any clarifications RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. LTD.
Why Preclassification 1) The borderline overweight vehicle get the advantage of missing axle weight resulting into the revenue loss to the concessionaire. 2)This totally defeats the purpose of WIM RAJDEEP INFO-TECHNO PVT. LTD.
