Overview • Goal: • Expand HSD video conference services to statewide locations to reduce travel time and travel costs. • Situation: • Staff/Management Meetings require lengthy travel time. • ASPEN Rollout requires multiple management meetings. • Solution: • Expand current video conference network to enable all HSD remote offices to videoconference. • Automate system to enable faster set up and use. • Purpose: • Present status of expansion initiative.   5. Cost Savings Estimate HSD estimates an annual savings of $199,744 per year less annual maintenance fees of $53,289. Estimates furnished by Income Support Division cost study. New Mexico Human Services Department

Conclusion • Cost and Time savings have been successful with initial introduction of videoconference system. • This expansion in 2012 will extend time and budget gains to all HSD offices. • HSD will be able to hold training or other meetings previously cost prohibitive due to travel and time costs. • The efficient use of video technology will both fulfill a need and provide greater access between offices.
