  1. Climate changes in relation to Mythological and religious incidents.

  2. Contexts • The deluge of Noah • The correlation

  3. The deluge of Noah The deluge of Noah has been an object for investigation by many scientists who strive to find out a scientific explanation for the incidents described on the “Genesis Book” and not only.

  4. “The ice-melting caused the deluge” After many years of scrutinized research scientists found out that the Aegean sea covered an area of 2000 km2 at the Black sea’s coastal zone, 9500 ago. That happened at the last Ice Age. During this period a huge volume of Ice, which covered the European continent and the whole North Hemisphere till 11.000 years ago, began to melt and the sea level increased.Scientists indicate that in this period happened what we name “the big deluge” than caused crucial geological changes. “It may have been a huge earthquake or a collapse of a “natural dam” at the region of Bosporus. Whatever the reason the water rushed in the closed Black sea, the matter is that the sea level increased by 10 meters in only a few years” described Dr Libious Yosan, marine geologist.

  5. “Lower intensity than it was thought” • When the deluge began, Dounavis outfalls were covered by the sea and during the years the river gained its current delta. Scientists were focus on this area searching for the first Dounavis’s outfalls, which would help them to estimate the precise increase of the Black sea’s water level from 10.000 bc till nowadays. • Geologists found out that the sea level was about 30m above the current level and not 80m as it was believed. The deluge began when the level of the Aegean Sea reached the region of the Straits Of Bosporus which in only a few years moved into the Black sea. In order words, for every single year of deluge, thousand km2 at the region of Black sea were covered by the Aegean sea’s water.

  6. “The rumor says…” Besides its other consequences the deluge caused the immersion of huge area inhabited by many Neolithic settlements. Scientists support that the habitat were searching for a refugee at new areas transferring their frightening experiences to other civilizations.

  7. It is obvious that human interference in the environmental affected and still affect our planet in a negative way. Climate changes are a problem of paramount importance and it only can be surpassed through the collective action and contribution. SAVE THE PLANETKourta Dimitra Mariadis Christophoros  Malakozis Achilleas Anagnwstopoulou Maria Papathanasiou Stella 3rd high school of Polichni, Thessaloniki,Greece
