Harmonize Continental and Oceanic Data Link Standards • Request to include Oceanic/Remote environment in TORs • Target is Converged Continental/Oceanic SPR/INT • Starting point for Oceanic SPR is ED-122/DO-306 • No Change to ED-122 anymore (beyond messages for ITP) • Evolutions of Oceanic/Cont ENV included in converged SPR/INT • Benefits for avionics software development is one set of applications for both environments • Call For Interest required in cooperation with ICAO Paris • Start of activity at P10 – week 3rd May • Based on initial convergence plan
Revision ED-122/DO-306 to include CPDLC for ATSA-ITP • Request from WG-51/SC-186 • EUROCAE/RTCA approved ADS-B ITP SPR (ED-159/DO-312) • Requires CPDLC messages for ITP ops based on Data Link • ITP CPDLC Ad-Hoc SG developed Change 1 to ED-122/ DO-306 • Required by Boeing/Airbus for future ITP Trials • Request to conduct FRAC process for Change 1 to ED122
Inclusion of CPDLC messages to support Interval Management (IM) • Interval Management Application includes Merging and Spacing • WG-51/SC-186 plans to complete the IM SPR by Dec 2010 • WG-51/SC-186 is Responsible for Safety and Performance Requirements • WG-78/SC-214 to develop CPDLC messages and allocate the Safety, Performance Requirements Across ATSU, CSP, and Aircraft
Traceability between existing DL standards and 78/214 Requirements • Clarification of existing TORs (Backward Compatibility) • Material required containing traceability between 78/214 requirements and : • DO-306/ED122/ DO258A/ED100A • DO-290/ED120 Change1 and 2 / DO280B/ED110B • Benefits for Certification/Approval process and avionics development
Revision VDL mode 2 material • New functions in VDL2 in accordance with AEEC 631-5 • Multiple frequency operations (autotune) • Frequency support list • RTCA included revision of DO-281A (MOPS) and DO-224B (MASPS) in SC-214 • EUROCAE needs to revise ED-92 (Mops) • Revision ICAO VDL 2 Tech Manual also required • Opportunity to align RTCA and EUROCAE VDL2 material • Discussion on pragmatic way ahead
More TOR changes • Reintroduction of D-RVR, D-HWX services (result of coordination with WG76) • Include coordination with WG-44/SC-217 to agree on a solution to exchange data in support of D-TAXI Graphic • Include coordination with WG-85 on the navigation performance requirements for the Initial 4D service
Deletions from current TORs INTEROP for ACARS (ARINC 623) accommodation, due to the lack of interest by ANSPs and Industry Appendix 1: Data Link Flight Update Service (D-FLUP); due to lack of requirements definition Item G in Chapter 2 refers to “…new standard backward compatible …FANS 1/A- ATN INTEROP Standard (DO305 / ED-154 )…”. The FANS 1/A – ATN INTEROP Standard (ED-154/DO-305) provides requirements for an ATN B1 ground system to provide ATS Datalink services to a FANS 1/A aircraft (not impacted by the scope of WG78/SC214 activities).
