  2. IN THE PAST • Old OR log included everything • Very cumbersome for case selection • Time consuming • Lengthy report

  4. TEMPORARY SOLUTION • Brainstorm ideas to simplify log • Had NSQIP custom fields created • Contained NSQIP exclusion criteria (i.e. <18, OB etc) • Length of OR Log reduced

  5. DEVELOPMENT UNDERWAY • Through persistence gained the attention of Executive Administration • Drafted up sample • Presented to Senior Executive Team • Submitted draft as priority to IMIT

  6. NEW LOG • Increased NSQIP collectable variables • Enables more information in one location • CPT code included on log and continually being updated • Length of NSQIP OR Log approx ¼ of what it was originally

  8. BENEFITS OF NEW OR LOG • Able to share with other sites and programs within Interior Health Authority • Continuity in selection and use of CPT codes • Less time selecting cases • More time freed up to audit
