What is EVS? • full-time voluntary activity in a foreign country within or beyond the borders of the European Union • possible in 33 countries • can be focused on a variety of themes and areas, such as culture, youth, sports, social care, cultural heritage, arts, civil protection, environment, etc.
The 3 types of EVS • long-term EVS • short-term EVS • Group EVS
Long-term EVS • For young people aged 18-30 • Minimum 2 month – maximum 12 month • It is just possible to participate once
Short-term EVS • For young people aged 16-30 • Espacially for youngsters with fewer opportunities • Minimum 2 weeks – maximum 2 month • Opportunity to do a second EVS
Group EVS • For young people aged 16-30 • A group of a least 10 volunteers • Minimum 2 weeks – maximum 12 month
What does EVS provide? • For the volunteer the service is for free: • 90% of travel costs, pocketmoney, accomodation, food, insurance and language curse are inclusive • Different trainings before, during and after EVS • A mentor • Youth pass
The idea behind The European Union offers EVS, because it: • is valued as a non-formal learning experience enhancing volunteers' professional skills and competences • increases their sense of solidarity • develops their social skills and promotes active participation in society • is a win-win situation for volunteer and the community
