CHARGE MASTER CODER PROCEDURE COSTING & UTILIZATION DATABASE PROCEDURE PRICING DATABASE Database Overview (Input/Output) INPUT • Data only accepted where common eTBA systems, methodologies, and definitions are in place • Data integrity assured because common systems have been proven over several years and many clients • Data is real world versus hypothetical should be 100% PROCEDURE LEVEL MATCH OUTPUT • Ability to extract data by hospital groups such as region, hospital type, and/or organization • Ability to produce homogeneous data samples by department, DRG, product line, procedure, etc. • Ability to identify areas where performance is sub-par in relation to other comparable hospitals and then address internally. In cooperative hospital groups, identification may present the opportunity to investigate top performing hospitals to learn of operational differences.

  11. Clinical Systems Integration

  12. Patient Accounting Clinical System What is Clinical Systems Integration? The ultimate goal of Clinical Systems Integration is to effectively analyze the cost/profitability of product lines, managed care contracts, departments, physicians, etc. The analysis of this information is dependent upon a system that contains not only clinical information, but also accurate financial (revenue and expense) data. The lack of accurate and audited financial data within a clinical system is the most common reason for its limited use or non-use. eTBA's Clinical Systems Integrator (CSI) executes a consistent, automated flow of appropriate patient accounting and clinical data from diverse feeder systems that exist within the Healthcare Information Network (HIN) into CSI's unique Relational Database Management Engine. CSI's data standardization protocol then delivers output data to Decision Support nodes throughout the HIN.

  13. PCM ERM: Executive Reporting Module If you already are a current PCM user, eTBA offers the PCM Executive Reporting Module. ERM will make sure your current version of PCM is running optimally, will allow you to diagnose your data sources if financial variances are out of the norm, and will provide you and your decision making executives with a monthly set of Executive Information Reports. ERM is a fully relational Database Management System (DBMS), which provides Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) capabilities. Thus, the executive user can analyze ERM data in other spreadsheet and/or database management systems. Each report pack compares the hospital's financials to both G/L Based and Clinical Decision Support Data in order to verify the integrity of your cost. It also provides detailed cost/profit information by department, as well as detailed fixed variable cost composition.

Client hospitals with PCM will rest assured that an efficient process will continue to provide accurate product costing information.

Fixed/ Variable Cost Analysis Product Cost Management Strategic Cost Modeling Labor Segmentation Healthcare System's Executive Information Tools Department Cost Management RVU Development Cost Management Products Along with PCM, a suite of other cost management products are available from eTBA. Each product was developed as an independent module offering immediate and multiple benefits to client hospitals. Additionally, each module can be integrated through a common Charge Master Standardization engine to provide intra-hospital comparative and benchmarking capabilities unmatched in the healthcare industry today. OSI takes the guess work out of cost management.
