Graduate Management Trainee Scheme National News As you may be aware the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) is one of the UKs premier graduate schemes and is constantly rated in the top 10 of the Times and Guardian’s top 100 Graduate Employers. Last year 100 graduates were recruited to the national scheme across four specialisms; General Management, Finance Management, Human Resource Management and Health Informatics Management. In 2013 Yorkshire and the Humber received 10 trainees across the four specialisms (General Management/Finance/Human Resources/Informatics). The number of trainees Yorkshire and the Humber will receive in September 2014 is yet to be confirmed. Our 2014 cohort are currently being recruited onto the scheme and so far over 12,000 graduates have applied since September. Expressions of interest are now being welcomed from YH organisations to host placements for GMTS trainees. In order to express an interest you will need to complete and return a two-part Statement of Commitment (SOC). If you have not received a SOC and the supporting documents then please contact sophia.khan@yh.hee.nhs.uk as soon as possible. The deadline for part 1 of the SOC is the 17th of January. • Breaking News • The new Fast Track Leadership Programme is likely to be advertised in the new year with 50 places nationally – 35 for clinical leaders and 15 for non NHS fast track talent • The popular Nursing and Midwifery programme is being updated and re-launched in the new year • The new NHS Healthcare Leadership model has now been developed and can be seen at http://www.leadershipacademy.nhs.uk/discover/leadershipmodel/ Tools and training should be available in February 2014 Mary Seacole Programme Recruitment Begins for Spring Cohorts!
