What & where? • 20 Housing Zones • Primarily expected to be in Opportunity Areas • Initially deliver at least 50,000 homes with an aspiration to deliver more in the longer-term • Up to 100,000 jobs • Flexible funding - £400m • £200m allocated from GLA housing capital budgets • £200m HMT recoverable investment
How would they work? • Boroughs bid – showing commitment and offering ‘something-for-something’ • Flexibility in timing • GLA ready to assess bids as soon as they are ready • Prioritise early outputs but also offer long-term support • Designation will involve agreement of firm contractual targets and strong governance oversight
