  2. Experiment(The process of testing in order to make a discovery) Predictions Think about what you have learned in today’s lesson. Make three predictions as to what you think we will be learning about next lesson. How will the lesson start? end? How will it link to today’s learning? Back home

  3. Examine(To inspect thoroughly, to test the proficiency of someone) ‘4 to Grow’ • Pick one of the skills and explain how you have used it today… • Pick one of the skills and explain how you have improved it today… 3) Pick one of the skills and explain how you will aim to use it or improve it next time… Back home

  4. Explore(Travel through an unfamiliar area in order to learn more about it) Today we have been studying…….. Write down 5questions you would still like to explore about our topic. Back home

  5. Expand(Make larger or more extensive. Give a fuller version of) A-Z Write down a keyword for our topic area for as many letters of the alphabet as you can. Can also do it verbally. Ask students/groups to shout out when you give them a letter. Back home

  6. Cooperate(To work jointly towards the same end) In pairs discuss the answers to these questions: What if we hadn’t done today’s lesson? What if you weren’t allowed to know what we’ve learnt today? What if everything I’ve told you today was false? Back home

  7. Contribute(To give in order to achieve something) Continuum Make a continuum in the room with strongly for and strongly against at either end. Students must give reasons to justify the position on the continuum they choose. Back home

  13. Refine(Make minor changes so as to improve) Peer/Self Assessment Students asked to swap classwork and peer assess this based on the success criteria set. Give targets for improvement. Students respond to feedback Back home

  14. Invent(Create or design something that has not existed before) Devise a new invention that relates to what we have been studying this lesson Back home

  15. Initiate(Cause a process or action to begin) Everyday people How can you link today’s lesson to your everyday life? In what contexts would you encounter what we have learned about today in your day-to-day life? How can you use what we have learned to day in your life inside and outside of school? Back home

Imagine(Form a mental image or concept of) Smile Imagine a time when something good happened to you, It could be a big thing like winning a prize or cup, or something simple like laughing with friends. Hold that image and think about how it felt. Imagine you have that same feeling now and smile. What a lovely way to end the lesson! Back home
