TennisChecklist of Procedures • Emergency Procedure sheet- coaches must review Sign Date • Review procedures on environmental hazards including: heat illness recognition and prevention, lightening, cold, etc. Review charts on lightening and cold hazards as well as review use of lightening detectors. • Explain procedures for dealing with injury and illness, including exposure to blood and / or other body fluids.

TennisChecklist of Procedures • Review policies on “Supportive Undergarments”, and “Sports participation with jewelry.” • Explain all drills and their purpose (conditioning, improving skills, and safety). • To avoid blisters wear only well fitting tennis shoes with a high lacing pattern. • To avoid dehydration, take plenty of water on the playing court with you and drink often. • Bring adequate clothing for the match and shifting weather as well as sun protection.

TennisChecklist of Procedures • Stretch the shoulders, back, hips, and arms adequately before you play the match. • Avoid making distracting sounds or actions as someone may get hurt as a result of the distraction • Remove any distracting equipment that may be on the court as could be in your sway, such as tennis balls. • Do not jump over the net.

TennisChecklist of Procedures • Do not throw the tennis racquet or hit any balls after the play is over as they may strike an unsuspecting player or spectator. • All athletes have the right to leave an athletic site or activity, without fear of repercussion or penalty if they feel they are in danger.
