Day 1:am • 10am Start • 10am-10.10am Introduction • 10.10-10.20 :Paired group exercise to share the thoughts from the pre-course survey. • 10.20-10.50am Sharing thoughts and collating this information. • 11.00 till 11.30am Tea break • 11.30-11.40amPaired exercise: How do we identify learning needs • 11.40-11.50 am Feedback. • 11.50-12.00 noon Short presentation about learning styles and learning cycles. • 12.00 till 1pm Lunch
Day 1:pm • Group activity on addressing learning needs. • 1.00-1.10pm:Collecting reflections based of good/poor feedback. • 1.10-1.20pm Role play: content given by facilitators. • 1.20-1.30pm Role play in the group. • 1.30-2.00pm Feedback on the role play: Feelings and reflections on the process of giving feedback. • 2pm-2.30pm : Tea break • 2.30-3.00pm Making a change based on feedback. • 3.00-3.10pm-PPP on Feedback. • 3.10-3.30pm Review of the day and homework for the next day: • (Think about a subject that you would like to give a 10 minute tutorial on) • 3.30pm-4.00 pm Feedback and discussion. • Feedback forms.docx.
Day 2:am • 10am Start • 10.00-10.10amIntroduction for the day: How to deliver teaching • (whole group review of last few weeks :use of feedback and learning plans) • 10.10-11.00amGroup activity: Delivery of tutorials • (in groups of 3) • 11.00-11.30amTea Break • 11.30 -11.40am Discussion about what went well/ needs to be done differently(in groups of 3) • 11.40-11.50: Discussion about learning points from this exercise. • 11.50 -12.00 PPP on How to deliver a tutorial. • 12.00 -1pm Lunch
Day2 :pm • 1.00pm-1.10pm Review of : Calgary Cambridge model.(In your groups) • 1.10-1.20pm: Watch a video :one person needs to adopt the trainee’s role • 1.30-1.40 pm Demonstration of ALOBA(agenda led outcomes based analysis) by facilitators. • 1.40pm-1.50pm Feedback on how this went in pairs • 1.50-2pm: Feedback to group on what went well/or not so well • 2.00-2.30 Tea Break • 2.30-2.40 Watch a second video • 2.40-2.50pmUse of ALOBA in groups of 3 • 2.50-3.00 : Feedback to the Group • 3.00-3.15 Feedback from groups in terms of what was learnt from this activity (15 mins) • 3.15-3.30 Review of the day: Homework activity-think about a clinical case based on WPBA domain as per • http://www.rcgp.org.uk/gp-training-and-exams/mrcgp-workplace-based-assessment-wpba/wpba-competence-framework.aspx • Please also review the following and bring any questions for discussion in march 2014 • http://www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/pages/home/curriculum-and-assessment/curriculum2012

Day3 :pm • Barriers to effective assessments and how to over come them. • 1.00-1.30pm: Group discussion around the barriers to assessment . • 1.30-2pmGroup feedback on the discussion. • 2.00-2.30pm Tea break • 2.30-3.00pm Discussion around any outstanding issues regarding assessments. • 3.00-3.30pm Review of the day and of the objectives of the course (PPP). • 3.30-4.00pmFinal sign off by Dr Simon Downs. • Feedback forms.docx.
