Data Collection Device (DCD) Job Aid – Hot Keys / Short cuts Data Collection Device (DCD) Job Aid – Hot Keys / Short cuts 1 For all DCD programs: <Func> <L> - Turns on the backlight for the DCD screen for about 15 seconds. <Func> <Sp> - Increases screen contrast. <Func> <Bksp> - Decreases screen contrast. <F1> - Context-sensitive help. <Ctrl> <T> - Set timeout (in seconds) of screen blanking. NOTE: The DCD screen time-out default is 60 seconds. Longer durations should be avoided to maximize battery life. For Route Inspections: <F4> - Input clockrings for the day. <F5> - Input vehicle mileage. <R> - Brings up Recall menu to see what you have previously entered. While on Street functions: <B> - Return to previous delivery after doing a search <E> - Edit address <K> - Change delivery mode <N> - No delivery made (or Finished block if at multi-pt delivery) <P> - Change possible deliveries (if at multi-point delivery) <S> - Search for an address or Zip + 4 <T> - Change delivery type <Y> - Made delivery -> - (right arrow) – skip address ^ (up arrow) – previous address (or previous field if at multi-pt delivery) v (down arrow) – next field if at multi-pt delivery <Enter> - if at multi-point delivery, add 1 or value to deliveries made 3 2 For volume recording: <Ctrl> <Q> - To set the time on the DCD (not permanent) <Ctrl> <O> - Change the route order when recording volumes. This toggles between RTE Order (ascending) and SEQ Order (descending). <F5> - Toggle to specific route 4 Boot keys: Use the below sequences in conjunction with the < On / Off> while holding down and prior to releasing the other keys. Also the DCD must be turned off prior to attempting any type of boot. <A> + <D> : Command boot <F1> + <F4> + <Enter> : Cold (or hard) boot <Shift> + <L> : Warm (or soft) boot
