Minnesota Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program Healthy Eating Coalition of State Agencies – Year 1 Goals • Collaboratively support MDE in implementing their new Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program • Secure funding to pilot nutrition education and farm to school strategies in FFVP schools
Minnesota Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program Role of HEC Members in the MN FFVP • Fiscal agent for Specialty Crop Block Grant • Hired full time project coordinator to work with 3 pilot school districts • Provided new curriculum called “Go Wild with Fruits and Vegetables http://www.extension.umn.edu/nutrition/GoWild.html
