Preparation = Listening Phase I: Informal “chats” What I heard: • Improve the new member experience • Create more opportunities for fellowship & service • Provide more member recognition • Make Rotary International more visible
Preparation = Listening Phase II: Vision Facilitation Structured Rotary-specific program • One evening (4 hours) • No more than 25 people • Consensus guaranteed
Vision Facilitation: Participants New to Rotary – New to our club – Long-term members Up & Coming to Experienced and Active Leaders 20s to Retirement Age Balance of gender Diversity of interests Etc.
Club Vision Components • Club Standing and Attributes: • Important and sought-after club. • Membership a diverse collection of ‘people of influence’, including active, young professionals. • Good times – Good works – Good friends. • High attendance due to great programs. • Wide variety of social activities. • Membership growth
Club Vision Components • Service Projects: • Broad hands-on participation in projects. • Build Camp Enterprise into “the” go-to youth program. • More youth projects. • Collaborate with SF Government, non-profits, business groups. • Emphasize the uniqueness of Rotary. • Adopt clear criteria for Service Projects to maximize results. • Require hands-on opportunities when we write a check.
Club Vision: Results Rotary’s “Rule #1” (HAVE FUN) + Club Vision Components = Having fun building a better tomorrow.
2009-10 Goals Have fun building a better tomorrow. • Inject more fun in everything we do. • Improve the new membership experience. • Increase pride of membership. • Collaborate with other groups. • Support Rotary International.
Treasurer: Eric Ball Manage Club and Service finances in a business-like, efficient manner. Maintain expenses at or below budget. Assure financial information is posted promptly on the club Website
Secretary: Warren Grawemeyer Build a Policy and Procedures Manual. Maintain information flow of minutes, reports, etc. Review attendance statistics and report to Membership and the Board.
President-Elect: Tim Hornbecker Prepare to be 2010-11 President Special resource to Membership Committee
Immediate Past President: Eric Schmautz Provide continuity and experience. Eric is also serving as DG Riki’s Chief of Staff.
