IECEx Scheme’s Strength • A Single system for the assessment of Ex Test Labs and Ex Certification Bodies • ISO/IEC 17025 • IECEx TGDs (Technical Guidance Documents) • ISO/IEC Guide 65 • IECEx Scheme Requirements – “The IECEx Way” • A Single set of Operational procedures for the way Ex Testing and Certification is done • Centralised Management Structure supported by • A centralised Secretariat • Direct Industry involvement • Cooperation among the ExCBs and ExTLs

Current Work of ExTAG • WG 1 – ExTR Blank preparation + Maintenance • WG 3 – Documentation and Drawings • WG 4 – Uncertainty of Measurement • WG 6 – Testing at other locations • WG 7 – Exchange of Information among Bodies • WG 8 – Guide on Common IS Assessment • WG 9 – Establishment of Ex s Requirements Reports to be considered during the ExTAG Technical Meeting

Current Work of ExTAG, cont’d Preparation and maintenance of ExTAG Decisions sheets • Provide clarification of requirements contained in standards • May cover matters relating to: • Testing • Assessment • Quality Assessment issue • ExTAG Decision sheets, once approved are an integral part of the Scheme Rules • Available for Public viewing on the IECEx Website www.iecex.com • Proposals may come from any Member of ExTAG • TC 31 and its SCs have representation on ExTAG • ExCBs and ExTLs are encouraged to use the system
