  2. Hi, my name is Daisy Dahlia. • Come with me as I help you • learn about my family of plants. • Of course like any family, • we are not all just alike! We even • have our share of Real Nuts • among the branches of our family!! • During this study you will • Name the parts of a plant • Tell the function of each part • List the 7 things plants need to grow • Name 5 ways plants reproduce • Examine seeds and bulbs

  3. Can you name the parts of a plant? Click the flower to learn the parts of a plant. Fill out your Parts of a Plant diagram.

  4. Now that you know the parts of a plant, let’s learn what what function each part performs. Click the Tulip to find out Completely fill out your Plant Parts Function Sheet.

  5. You might have noticed that there are plants EVERYWHERE! How did they get there? Click the bee to find out! Complete your sheet Plants! Plants! Everywhere! How Do They Reproduce?

  6. What Do Plants Need to Grow? Think of all the things you need to grow and stay healthy. Plants are not much different. Plants need seven things to help them grow. Fill out your chart labeled What Do Plants Need to Grow?’ Click on the geranium to find out!

  7. BULBS As you have learned, one of the ways plants reproduce or propagate is through bulbs. Joke:Why did the flower bulb make a great third grader? Because he was good at multiplying! Fill out your BULBS worksheet completely! Choose a bulb from the Mystery Bulb Bag. Plant your Mystery bulb and chart it’s growth on your Mystery Bulb Sheet. Click on the flowering bulb to learn about what’s inside.

  8. SEEDS It is hard to believe buteven mighty oak treesbegin life as little seeds.Inside of seeds we find the miracle of life! There are many seeds we like to eat, like beans or nuts. Have you ever wondered what is inside a seed? Let’s find out! Click on these seeds to find out about seeds. Examine a opened seed and complete your SEEDS sheet.

  9. CONGRATULATIONS! You have completed the show about plants! You are a regular Horticulturalist (plant expert!) In your science notebook or on notebook paper write at least two good paragraphs about everything you have learned about plants.Think of any questions you might still have about plants and write them down for a later investigation.
