  1. WELCOME JNV PHAPHRE BHAI KE, DISTT. MANSA

  2. STRUCTUREOF HEART Microsoft corporation

  3. OBJECTIVES • Structure of heart • What is our heart • InternalStructure • Blood flow in heart chamber • Blood vessels • Arteries • Veins and valves • Capillaries • Structure of blood HEART AND IT’S STRUCTURE

  4. Contents • PageTitle • Contents Page • Header Page • Where Your Heart Is • What Your Heart Is • Cardiac Muscles • Heart Chambers • Cardiac Cycle • Atriums and Veins: How Blood gets into your Heart • Atriums to Ventricles • Ventricles and Arteries: Pumping Blood from your Heart • Structure of Your Heart: Summary • Blood Vessels: Arteries • Blood Vessels: Veins and Valves • Blood Vessels: Capillaries • Blood • Heart Problems • ECG

  5. Where Your Heart Is • Your Heart is in the centre of your body, • behind the breastbone and between your lungs. Lung Lung Heart • Your Heart and Lungs fill the chest cavity and are protected by the ribs.

  6. What Your Heart Is • Your Heart is a pump • Your Heart is a muscular organ • Your Heart pumps blood all around your body

  7. InternalStructure of heart

  8. Heart Chambers • Your Heart has 4 Chambers: • The top chambers are called A_______. Left Auricle Right Auricle Right Ventricle Left Ventricle • The bottom chambers are called V_________.

  9. Atriums and Veins: How Blood gets into your Heart • Blood enters the Heart through two V____. Veins Left Auricle Right Auricle • The Lungs send blood with Oxygen in it through veins to the Heart. • The Body sends blood with no Oxygen in it through veins to the Heart.

  10. Atriums to Ventricles • Blood is pumped from the Auricles into • the Heart’s Ventricles. Left Auricle Right Auricle Right Ventricle Left Ventricle

  11. Ventricles and Arteries: Pumping Blood from your Heart • Blood leaves the Heart through two A_______. Artery Artery Right Ventricle Left Ventricle • The Heart pumps blood through Arteries to the Lungs to collect Oxygen. • The Heart pumps blood through Arteries to supply Oxygen to the Body.

  12. Structure of Your Heart: Summary Blood from Veins into Heart From Lungs From Body Right Auricle Left Auricle Right Ventricle Left Ventricle To Lungs To Body Blood to Arteries out of Heart

  13. Arteries • Arteries are blood vessels that • carry blood away from your heart. • Arteries are just like tubes • Blood is pumped through the arteries at high pressure because it needs to reach every part of your body. • Arteries become narrow as they branch through the body to supply all tissues. • To stand the high pressure, arteries have thick walls.

  14. Veins and Valves • Veins are bloodvessels that carry blood from body parts to heart • Veins, like arteries, • Are just like same. • The blood pressure is much low in the veins than it is in the arteries so the veins have thin walls. • Valves in the Veins make sure blood flows in 0ne direction only. • Veins have thin walls and contain valves

  15. Capillaries • Capillaries receive blood from the smallest arteries • and carry it into the tissues. • Once the blood is “used”, Capillaries then pass blood on from the tissues to the veins. • Capillaries are just wide enough to allow one blood cell to pass along. • Capillaries have thin walls to let gases, food, waste and • other substances pass between blood and tissues.

  16. Blood • Blood contains Red & White Cells, • Plasma and Platelets. Red Cells White Cells Plasma Platelets • Blood carries food, heat and oxygen around the body.
