The Story So Far….. • Built on Thanks for Life Campaign • Rotary Day 2012 – Trial • Rotary Day 2013: • National Roll Out (150k) • International Trial (Nigeria, US, Canada) • Target: • raise £15 million pa by 2015 • Become symbol of Rotary
The Rotary Crocus Works • Raises Awareness: • Walking adverts • Information card • Raises Funds: • Donation: £1 UK / US$5 US and Canada • Cost: around 30p • Tried and Tested • Low effort and risk
How to Use the Crocus • 1. Street Collection Box: • Contents: • 100 crocuses • 100 information cards • Comes with money box & neck strap • Where: Collections outside supermarkets, hospitals, shopping and garden centres, on the High Street • Average hourly distribution: 30 crocuses

Static ‘Counter Top’ Collection Box: • Contents: • 50 crocuses • 50 information cards • Comes with integral money box and security tag • Where: doctors surgeries, pharmacies, hospital receptions, garden centres • Low effort: ‘silent fundraiser’ • Average distribution: 35 crocuses / month

Club Trials • Concerned about a Trial? • Financial risk • Effort of collecting • Don’t Worry! • Risk: pre-place boxes / pre-arrange street collections • Effort: use Static boxes as ‘silent fundraisers’ and add crocuses to existing fundraising
Club Trial Order for World Polio Day (Oct) • 500 crocuses / Club: • Street Collection (2 boxes of 100): • 7 hrs collecting outside one supermarket (7Rotarians collecting for 1 hr each) • ‘Counter Top’ Boxes (5 boxes of 50): • Place 5 boxes in local doctors surgeries, pharmacies, hospital receptions, garden centres, school receptions • Top up Bag (1 bag of 50): family, friends, colleagues, visiting Rotarians • Any spare stock can be used up at existing Rotary meetings, fundraising events, visits
Club Trial Order for World Polio Day (Oct) • Cost of 500 crocuses: £164 • (£0.31 – 0.33 / crocus) • Revenue: £500 (£1 / crocus) • Profit: £336 • (almost enough to cover RI End Polio Now • targets for each club) • Plus Awareness
Roll Out for Rotary Day (Feb) • 1,000 crocuses / club: • Street Collection (4 boxes of 100) • ‘Counter Top’ (10 boxes of 50) • Have 5 sites already from trial so only 5 more to secure • Next year will have 10 sites before you start • Top Up Bag (2 bags of 50) • From 2015 main fundraising focus: Rotary Day
