INTEGRATION of SCB & SCCC Consultation document issued to Clubs/Organisations on 17 February 2014, with comments required by 12 March. 6 sets of written comments have been received, as follows: Several others have given verbal comments. • 2 from Club Chairmen • Chairman, Sussex Seniors • Former SCCC professional • Parent of girl cricketer • SCCC member
INTEGRATION of SCB & SCCC All comments were supportive of the integration. Specific supportive comments were as follows: • In 4.3, a further benefit should be added that the merger will strengthen the pathway to excellence; • It will also strengthen further the already efficient process for identifying, developing and monitoring talent; • Economies of scale can be realised, without adverse impact on the current high quality of provision.
INTEGRATION of SCB & SCCC The following suggestions have been made related to the future organisation of the new Board: • Ensure that the risks of integration are assessed and eliminated; • Manage the change sympathetically and with constant explanation to all stakeholders; • Keep valuable assets separate from the trading operations of the new Board; • Ensure that the respective assets are protected; • Consider the inclusion in the Board membership of co-opted members; • Ensure that there is clarity regarding voting rights.
INTEGRATION of SCB & SCCC The following are the next steps: • Approval in principle by the two Boards at AGMs in March 2014; • SCSG to consider various options for the new single entity body; • SCSG to be joined by two representatives from recreational cricket and two SCCC members; • SCSG to be advised & supported by ECB senior officers and the ECB lawyers; • ECB lawyers to prepare a new constitution for the preferred option. • Further consultation with clubs/organisations on the preferred option/constitution; • Formal approval of constitution at SCB/SCCC AGMs in March 2015. • Introduction of new body on 1 November 2015.
