What you should have known • Temperature - a soil thermometer in the ground • Light intensity - you hold the light meter above the plants • pH- put the pH probe into the ground • Water content – put the soil moisture probe into the ground You must leave it in long enough for the reading to be made
The readings should be written down at the time • You should take more than one reading- about 5 is probably best and write them all down • You then calculate an average to give you the value for that area • (Average ----- add up the 5 then divide the total by 5)
