World History Final Exam Question The Global World Culture Explain and Examine. • What factors make us a Global Community? • What are some recognizable icons worldwide?
Global World Culture • It’s the deepening and speeding up of worldwide interconnectedness. • It includes different aspects of social life from cultural to financial, criminal, and spiritual. • Most of this is all owed to international trade. • Ex: an American US citizen buying a shirt made in Taiwan or a car from South Korea.
Global World Culture • The world is now becoming a more connected place. Why? • The major reasons are that now we have all types of technology. • And Without them then there wouldn’t be a way to communicate. To share and explore ideas.
Global Community • What helps us become one global community are things like: • Computers (Internet) • Television (Satellites) • Cell Phones • Tourism
Global Community • One thing that helps makes us a global community is the same war that most countries have. Ex: The war against deprivation and poverty. • We’ve moved into an era we call ‘globalization’ of global interconnectedness. Information passes through the borders freely through the internet.
Worldwide Icons • Worldwide icons are an important part of Globalization. • They are symbols and trademarks that almost every “citizen” of the earth can recognize.
Worldwide Icons • One icon is Coca-Cola. It is one of the worlds favorite soft drinks. • Another is McDonald's. It’s probably the best known restaurant trademarks.
Worldwide Icons • Nike Swoosh is known as the leader of sports apparel and sports equipment. • Google search is the most used internet search engine in the world controlling 50.8% of the market.
Worldwide Icons • Mickey was introduced in 1928 by Walt Disney. He started out black and white. • The Olympic rings, flown for the first time during Antwerp Games in 1920.
Worldwide icons • The Microsoft icon is also known. • Along with Oscar’s Awards.
