  3. Ⅱ. Theme : ContinentsIn this unit, by learning about countries in continent. Students will learn  about many continents in the world.

  4. Ⅲ. Language Focus 1. Verb : using "be verb + from", "come from"   ex) He is from China. Sally comes from Canada. 2. Superlative   ex) China is the largest in Asia 3. The passive voice : using "be verb + past participle"     ex)  English is spoken by American.

  5. Ⅳ. Objective Students will be able to : 1. understand "The passive voice"       ex) English is spoken by American.    2. understand about countries in continent.      ex) China is  located in Asia    3. understand about many continents in the world.      ex) Europe has France, Germany, English, Spain.    4. understand "The superlative"      ex) China is the largest in Asia

  6. Ⅴ. Prerequisites Students already know : 1. understand "be verb"     2. understand "past participle"     3. understand "comparative degree"

  8. ♠ Activity 1. Continents * Language skill : speaking, listening, writing * Materials      : world map, work sheet      Step 1. Teacher show students world map.

  9.  Step 2. Teacher made students find our country on the map.  Step 3. Teacher ask students "What continent does our country locate?"  Step 4. Teacher explain about continents    Step 5. Teacher divide twenty students into five groups.  Step 6. Teacher decide each groups' name  (for example :  Group A - Asia, Group B : North America ...)  Step 7.   11. ♠ Activity 2. The largest country * Language skill : speaking, reading, writing * Materials      : world map, work sheet    Step 1. Teacher show students Russia's map and Korea's map   Step 2. Students can speak "Which country is bigger, Russia or Korea?"  Step 3. Teacher divide twenty students into five groups.  Step 4. Teacher decide each groups' name           (for example :  Group A - Asia, Group B : North America ...)   Step 5. Each group can speak that the largest country or the smallest  country.         ex) China is the largest in Asia. * Assessment    Students can find  that the largest city or the smallest city in our  country.      ex) Seoul is the largest city in my country.

  13. ♠ Activity 3. Role play * Language skill : listening, speaking    Step 1.  Students listen to tape model conversation.    Step 2.  Students listen again and repeat model conversation.    Step 3.  Students talk to each other.   Step 4.  Students change the role and talk each other.

I want you to meet my friend, Kate.                       John, This is my friend Kate.                       Kate, This is my Chinese teacher Mr. Whang.     Kate        : Nice to meet you, Mr Whang.     Mr .Whang  : Nice to meet you, too.                       Where are you from Kate?     Kate       :  I'm from Canada.     Mr. Whang  : What continent does your country locate?     Kate       : Canada is located in North America.     Mr. Whang  : My country, China is the largest in Asia.     Kate       : Wow, great! I want to visit in China someday.

  15. * Assessment  : Fill in the blank        Students complete the blank as listen to tape.        Minsu       : Hello!
