  5. May 24 What better way to end the year than by planning a party? You will review your math by putting together YOUR very own “part-tay”.

  6. It’s the end of the school year, and what a great year it has been! This year is different though you have been tasked with planning an end of the year bash like never before. The party will include your entire school, and it is only a two weeks away. To get started, create an invite to the “shindig” so that everyone can get excited to attend. Your invite must follow the specifics listed on your worksheet!

  7. Specifics listed on your worksheet: • Your invitation should have a border around the edge of the paper with 7” x 9” dimensions. • *Choose a date exactly 2 weeks from today. • *Your party must last exactly 3 and a half hours. Include the times on the invite. • *Choose a location (real or made up, but NOT at your school). Include the location on the invite. • *Include ticket prices for individual adults, individual children, and a price to buy a family ticket together. Your family ticket should be a discount for most people! (Example: Adult $10, Child $5, Family $20) • Any other information you want.

  8. You need to arrange for transportation to and from your party. • Everyone will meet at the school and then be taken to your end of the year party. • You have a few different transportation options • *Complete the worksheet.*

  9. It’s a few days before the big event, and you are almost ready to buy supplies. Use multiplication to tabulate how much of everything you estimate you will need. The last four have been left blank for you to add items you would like. Use a reasonable estimate to fill in the first two columns. (Not Included: All the pizzas are donated by Pizza Hut! NO COST! FREE!) )

  10. Now that you know how much of all of the items that you need, you can calculate your costs. Use either multiplication or division to fill in the blanks on the worksheet.

  11. The only way you can pay for your party is through raffle donations and the tickets people buy to enter the raffles. You have sold many raffle tickets leading up to your big bash! Now you need to do some math to figure out specifics about money and the number of tickets sold. Fill in the worksheets by using the information you have. Fill in the last three with raffle items of your choosing. Have fun!

  12. You had a great turnout at your party! Use the numbers collected in the data chart (which will be different than your estimates from transportation to and from) to answer the questions on the worksheet.

  13. Everyone had a blast at your party! Not only did they have fun, but they ate a ton, too. Use addition and subtraction to calculate the nutritional content of some of the attendees of the party. Fill in the worksheets by using the information you have.

  14. Your party is a raging success! Some families are so large that they spent a fortune just buying food to eat. Determine how much each of the families below spent on their party food! Fill in the worksheets by using the information you have.

  15. Your party is over, and there are bins and bins of trash! Luckily, you realized there would be a great deal of trash, and you had bins for both recycling and for trash. You even included a compost pile for all the food trash. You had three different waste stations set up with bins for each. Complete the data table, and then make a poster displaying a graph of the information for public display.

  16. The location of your party has a large rectangular field that is 50 yards by 50 yards. Combine the two sets of 25 x25 grid paper to represent your park, and then design the layout of your party by using the following specifications. On your grid paper, label the dimensions of each item along the outer edge, and on the inside include a label describing what the space is for, and its area (A) and perimeter (P).

Design Specifications • *Note* You must have 6 feet between any two games, food stands, etc. • Include a ticket booth that measures 12 feet by 12 feet. • You need a rectangular table to sell raffle tickets and a table to display items you can win in the raffle. The tables should be right next to each other and each have an area of 24 yards. • You should have six game stands that each have a perimeter of 24 yard • You need to have three different food stands. Two should have a perimeter of 18 yards, and the other should have a perimeter of 30 yards. • Make space for people to sit. There should be ten large, rectangular picnic tables, with dimensions measuring 9 feet by 6 feet. (You only need 3 feet between these.) • You need to have a 50 square yard area open for water games. • Include three trash stations that are each 3 yards by 3 yards. • *You may add bushes, trees, flowers, and other elements • of your choice when you have met these specifications!*
