  2. A disease that affects it: • Thyroid Disorders- regulate our body's metabolism and influence virtually every organ system in the body.

  3. How you get thyroid disorders: • All types of hyperthyroidismhappen because of overproduction of thyroid hormones, but the condition can occur in several ways such as: • Lithium • Exposure to excessive amounts of iodide • Removal of the thyroid gland • Toxic adenomas And several others.

  4. What happens? • You can have weight gain or loss. The gland regulates calcium homeostasis, which is in charge of having calcium movement into the bones. When the thyroid is out of wack, the body's metabolism will not work as effective.

  5. Does the body try to fix itself? • No, it needs medication and has to be treated.

  6. What medications do you need to take? • Thyrolar which is a pill to settle the hormones and help regulate the thyroid.

  7. Is it curable? • Yes, with medications or treatment.
