Overview of Market Testing Flight V1.4F2 • First Flight using ERCOT Testing on Demand System • Second Flight to test TX SET v1.4 transactions • Test plan includes 8 Frames - Scheduled 1 week per frame • First Flight for the Texas Market without an ITPTA • Scheduled date for completion by all parties - June 10th • Flight includes a new End to End script supporting payment - Required by all 6 TDSPs • ETOD scripts - Required by all 6 TDSPs • End to End scripts - required by Oncor and Reliant TDSP • Flight V1.4F2 began 4-15 after being delayed • Note: The original start date of this Flight was delayed to enable ITPTA resources to continue supporting Production Market Resolution activities (Tiger Team) without being interrupted by Market Testing activities.
Without an ITPTA??? How are we doing this??? All parties involved had to agree to take on additional responsibility TTPT, TTPT Chair, TTPT Vice Chairs, ERCOT Market Testing Team, PUCT, ERCOT Management, Glen Wingerd Immediate Contact Representatives were identified and communicated. In instances where a Testing Participant encountered issues, constraints, obstacles, they were to e-mail and or call contact representative(s) on the Market Testing Contact list for assistance as soon as possible. All parties involved had to agree to manage the Flight as best possible without an ITPTA. If we encountered problems, we would work with Trading Partners involved and alert Larry Grimm to the situation. As of this date, this has not been necessary.
What’s our process??? • All Market testing Flight information is available on the Retail Market Testing Web-site • Conference call agendas are posted for the daily conference call • Daily Market Testing conference calls take place each day at 11 AM • Each Test Participant states their status on the daily call • If testing Participants encounter obstacles between the daily calls, they notify a Market Testing Contact representative for assistance. • ERCOT and PUCT Staff representative(s) are on the daily call as possible • TTPT Sub-team is keeping a log of issues encountered in an effort to take these into consideration when drafting criteria for the next Flight. • There is a process to notify Larry Grimm as needed. • Glenn Wingerd supports Market testing on an “as needed” basis.

TTPT Concerns! While testing Participants are maintaining the schedule, this has not been an easy task for those involved. The Testing Contact Team members and TTPT members have other responsibilities and are unable to devote 100% of their time to duties previously performed by ITPTA. The Testing Contact Team will be able to respond to the Testing needs of 4 or 5 CRs. If Participants exceed this number for the July flight, greater involvement will be needed from Glen Wingerd and the ERCOT Market Testing Team to respond to the needs of the CRs. In addition, a centralized entity would be needed to assist in this effort. In order for the July flight and the Flight for V1.5 to be successful, the most knowledgeable resources possible must be available to participate in the activities leading up to the Flight. Further development of ETOD is needed for the Point to Point Transactions. TTPT members agree to some extent, the involvement of an ITPTA will be necessary for testing TX SET v1.5 to minimize risk and provide an independent view.
