FR-Driver • Additional Training for Drivers and Crew Chiefs • Not open for attendants, just an addition to Driver/CC training • General Driving Procedures and Emergency Driver Procedures are the same as for Ambulance Driver • Specific to FR-59 (no reference to transports, patient compartment) • Training Requirements • Perform Vehicle/Equipment Check • 5 hours of driving in FR-59 • FR-59 Cone Course • Driver Practical (5939 or FR-59) • Drive a Priority I call in 5939 or FR-59 FR-59 In Service
Communications • 800 MHz County Dispatch • Call sign “First Response 5-9” • Call “En Route”, • “On Scene”, • “In Service”, • “In Quarters” • Internal RPIA Radio • Call Sign “F-R” • Communicate response with the ambulance FR-59 In Service
Response • Responses outlined in SOP 12-14 • Day Calls (No scheduled duty crew) • Priority is to get the ambulance to the scene • FR can respond if there is a FR-Driver CC on board • Driver and other crew responds to the ambulance • Night Calls (scheduled duty crew) • Priority is to get the ambulance to the scene • FR can respond to the garage with the crew • FR can respond to the scene if there is a FR-Driver CC on board • Mutual Aid • FR-59 does not respond to mutual aid unless specifically requested FR-59 In Service
