Respecting care needs
Maximizing the dining experience
Living in the “secured unit”
Participating in activities
Respecting the resident’s room & personal space
4. Regulation Comparison The guide also compares/ contrasts the requirements for resident dignity to the following areas:
Privacy and Confidentiality
Abuse
Activities of Daily Living
5. “Reasonable Person” Concept Used to assess residents who cannot speak for themselves.
Surveyors assess how most people would react to a particular situation.
Used to determine compliance with more esoteric concepts, such as dignity.
