Cadet Protection
An 8 hour course for the new member to the Civil Air Patrol.
Completion of Level I earns the member the Membership Award.
5. Promotion Policy Justification for promotions.
Since 1 October 1994 it has been CAWG policy NOT to promote individuals merely because they have met the minimum requirements. Promotions above 1st Lieutenant will include, in addition to the requirements of CAPR 35-5 and this chapter, a justification as to why the member should be promoted to the grade requested. Members are not promoted just because they have time-in-grade and met minimum educational requirements or hold some special qualification.

8. Technician Rating Once all the Technician tasks have been completed, the Professional Development Report will be updated by the Unit PDO, signed by the Unit Commander and returned to NHQ/ETP. The member’s CAPF 45b will be updated by the Unit Personnel Officer.
The member is then authorized to wear the Leadership Award Ribbon.

10. Level II Squadron Leadership School
ECI 13 - CAP Officer Course
Technician rating
The Certificate Of Proficiency is awarded for completing this level.
11. Level II Certificate Of Proficiency
18 months as First Lieutenant
Member is eligible for the next grade in the Civil Air Patrol …

“Senior” rating in a specialty track
