Our Old Model of Church • It was largely built on the name of our Pastor • Only “certain people” reached the lost • Only “certain people” made disciples • Only “certain people” were discipled • The majority of Church ministry was done only at the Church building • We expected people to come and check us out New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

3. Our Old Model Was Flawed • Led to the burn out of people (80/20) • The majority of people never completed the work of the ministry. • It left cracks - people may or may not experience spiritual growth. • People took on an “us vs. them” mentality when it came to ministry. • Pastors were overburdened and pressured because they carried too much weight. • Church survival was highly contingent upon the Pastor. 4. What The New Model Will Look Like • The responsibility to evangelize and make disciples will be placed on the 80% (Members). The 20%(Ministry Officers) will equip and encourage the Members. • The majority of the work of the ministry will be done by members in their own neighborhoods and communities. • Everyone will be discipled while discipling others New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

5. Benefits Of The New Model • We will always be growing because we will always be evangelizing. • Everyone who is an active member of our church should experience spiritual growth. • The work load of ministry will be spread more evenly among the congregation and improve the overall quality of life for our members. • No one will fall between the cracks because everyone will be accounted and cared for. • Our Pastor and staff will no longer be overstretched and can focus on fewer higher impact activities. 7. Seven Step Process • Pre-encounter • Encounter • Post encounter • Leadership School • Biblical Studies • Entrepreneurship & Prophetic Training • Public Administration New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

8. Things To Know About The “Pre-Encounter” • 7 week process • Delivered via House of Peace or Life Groups • Covers some of the fundamentals of the faith including deliverance, faith, confessions, healing & blessings. • Involves three books New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

9. Things To Know About The “Encounter and Post Encounter” • Covers more of the fundamentals of the faith including water baptism and baptism of the Holy Spirit. • Starts with a three day weekend. • Concludes with a four hour* session the week following the Encounter. 10. Things To Know About The “Leadership School” • 6 weeks in length • The goal is to prepare disciples to go and make more disciples • Covers such topics as small group facilitation, evangelism and leadership basics New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

11. What Will Change As a Result of This Process….. • We will become a church of small groups (everyone will have a 12 and be in a 12). • Everyone will have the opportunity to build a network (their group of disciples). • Once a network reaches 100, that leader will become a Pastor and possibly come on staff. • Evangelism and Discipleship will not be ministries but part of our church culture. • Our new members processes will change. Benefits Of Our New Process… • We will reach the lost. • We will see true growth in people’s lives. • Our current ministries will be more productive. • Our current leadership will have some of the burden removed. • We will all bear more fruit in our lives. • We will be empowered in our communities and not have to be at this building as much. 14. How Will We Roll This Out? Through Phases…

Phase I….Takes Approximately 4 Months • Bishop Long casted the vision. • Bishop Long selected his 12 to be in his small group. • 144 Core Leaders have been selected to be the basis of the group. • Bishop Long’s 12 and the first 144 Core Leaders will go through the first 4 stages. • “Pray For Your Neighbor“ campaign was launched. • Family Altar will be launched New Birth Missionary Baptist Church – The Power of One

16. Phase II….Takes 4 - 5 Months • 144 Core Leaders get their groups started with 6 people from the congregation. • House of Peace starts. • “Pray For Your Neighbor” campaign starts again • Family Altar starts. • Discipleship groups starts. • Concludes with Leadership School graduation.
