Applications Timeline • Applications breakthroughs that have have occurred over the last 25 years as a result of HPC • Due to an increase in speed, introduction of a new architecture or software, or increase in memory capacity • Future challenges yet to be solved that require additional compute capability

  3. Applications Timeline • Impact of breakthrough, such as: • increased competitiveness • new product development • dollars saved/additional revenue • new market opened • percent increase in market share • national security enhancement • enhanced opportunity for health/well-being

  4. Applications Timeline • Across major industry areas: • Automotive • Aerospace • Chemical • Communications • Consumer Goods • Entertainment • Financial • IT/Electronics • Oil & Gas • Pharma/Life Sciences • Transportation • Telecommunications

  5. Applications Timeline We will take the information in any format (email, Word, Excel etc.) but it should include: • Brief description of the breakthrough, in layman's language • Year/years breakthrough occurred • Brief description of impact (there could be more than one) • Industry/industries/science area/agency mission affected (there could be more than one) • Also…Problem yet to be solved that requires more compute capability
