  3. 5 Reasons Why – You should follow @YACymru & be using Twitter as part of your YA role • Don’t be left out • We love responding, retweeting and favouriting your tweets • It’s a great way to build a network to support the role • It makes you easily contactable • It creates a buzz about the YA role! • Let’s Get Everyone Excited About What We Do!!

  4. 5 Ways of Using – Just as a Starter • Share your good news & congratulate achievements • Share useful information • Start a conversation • Keep things fun and interesting • Tweet pictures and films of what’s going on in your area • Keep it live

  5. 5 Notes of caution - Don’t get caught out Do – follow and @ connect with others – build up your links and take part in conversations - don’t be shy! Don’t – forget that once something is online, it can and will be seen Do– add ‘views are my own’ disclaimer if you are representing YA Cymru, a school, LA area Don’t– be disrespectful Do – check school policy around twitter accounts before encouraging others to be using in this setting

  8. Tom Morgan– Platinum Ambassador Hi guys firstly welcome to the social media work shop. I have been a Young Ambassador since year 10, within 2 years I have been a Silver, Gold and recently I have been appointed to a Platinum. The experiences I’ve already been apart of is massive, ranging from coaching, volunteering at the Tour of Britain, Q&A session with Jason Gardener at NIAC, to then going on to be a member of my local authority’s Community Chest Panel, I am a member on the Welsh National Steering Group and also the South East Steering Group where our main focus is to strive to our newest goal, the Common Wealth Games, but most importantly improving the Young Ambassador programme for the future to come.

  11. Qwiki is an app what allows you to make a 30 second video clip by either importing or taking pictures, then by adding your own music to the backing theme. The best video from each group will go into the final at the closing of the conference….so get creative! Here is ours for a bit of an idea of what to make.
