Basic Direction of year 2013 • Depopulation both in farm villages and in farming sector in Japan is bringing serious problems to the economy, social welfare system, medical services, disaster defense systems of marginal villages. To breakthrough this difficult situation, It is needed that human development which can raise people who live rural life based on farming utilizing locally produced natural recourses and rural village building which can create the environment these people can sustainably live. To achieve the idea, we are implementing programs with the following categories.
Basic Direction of year 2013 • 1) Programs to raise farmers with the Ainou (love agriculture) spirit and the awareness of true mission of farming. • 2) Programs to promote farming based community building. • 3) Program on learning sustainable farm management, farming techniques and life styles. • 4) Information sharing
Basic Direction of year 2013 • Also… we have been working on international programs for about 50 years. Through sending trainers and accepting trainees, we have disseminated sustainable farming techniques and building mutual understanding and trusts between partner countries. Following are the related programs. • 5) Accepting trainees from overseas. • 6) Partnership building between overseas organizations
Implemented Programs--- 1) Programs to raise farmers with the Ainou (love agriculture) spirit and the awareness of true mission of farming. • 123rd Ainou Daigaku Koza Aug 10 - 19, 2013 9 days intensive course on Organic Farming and Sustainable way of living.
Implemented Programs--- 1) Programs to raise farmers with the Ainou (love agriculture) spirit and the awareness of true mission of farming. • Ainou Nature School for Kids July 20 -21, 2013 2 days program for kids to touch the nature and experience farming activities.
Implemented Programs--- 1) Programs to raise farmers with the Ainou (love agriculture) spirit and the awareness of true mission of farming. • Ainou Wood Burning Kitchen Stove Making March 2 -4, 2013 Disseminating the energy efficient wood burning kitchen stove “Ainou Kamado” as a sustainable living skill.
Implemented Programs--- 2) Training program to promote farming based community building. • Seminar on Sustainable Life Techniques March 29-30, 2013 Visiting the initiatives in inter mountain villages in Toyota city in Aichi prefecture where Dr. Takano of Nagoya university and newly settled youth are active to call in new comers. The village is getting younger.
Implemented Programs--- 3) Program on learning sustainable farm management, farming techniques and life styles. • Basic Cass on Organic Farming ■How to culture and apply Photosynthesis Bacterium to organic farming --April 29th ■How to produce Autumn and Winter Vegetables --June 30th July 14th ■ Food Processing Course --Dec 13th to 15th
Implemented Programs--- 4) Information sharing • Issuing Monthly New Letter “Ainou” 1050 supporters are subscribing.
Implemented Programs--- 5) Accepting trainees from overseas. • 5 Interns from National Ping Tung University of Science & Technology ---July 24th to Aug 28th 5 students majoring Agribusiness management in NPUST learnt about sustainable agriculture, marketing of organic products, organic certification systems etc, through Ainou network.
Implemented Programs--- 6) Partnership building between overseas organizations • Study tour in India --Jan 30th to Feb 9th • Korea-Japan Peace Exchange Visit in Korea --Oct 28 to 31 • Attending AFA activities Biannually holding study tour in India hosted by Allahabad organic agricultural coop and Makino School led by Dr. Teruo Miura.
Implemented Programs--- 7) Organic Certification • Registered as Organic Certification Body by MAFF in 2000. • 32 producers and 15 processers are certified by us in the year of 2013.
