  1. WAAAUB Programs Committee Recent Achievements Goals for 2009-2010

General Objectives of this Committee: • Expand alumni programs that will complement and supplement existing programs at AUB (e.g., Reunion) • Develop new alumni programs at the worldwide level to further WAAAUB mission (e.g., AUB Alumni benefit package) • Work with chapters to build and expand on their current activities

  3. Achieved so far • Developed a Young Alumni Travel Package (May 2008) this was not implemented due the 2008 conflict in Lebanon • Class Reunion 2008 (July 2008) • The Paganini Duo Concert (March 2009) • WAAAUB second convention gala dinner (May 2009) • Honoring Ceremony Faculty of Medicine Class of 1959 (May 2009) • Class Reunion 2009 (July 2009) • Majida El Roumi Concert at AUB (July 2009) • Summer Program for Children of AUB alumni (July 2009) • AUB Alumni Legacy Ceremony (Sept. 2009)

  4. Recent Achievements • Class Reunion 2009 attended by more than 700 AUB alumni

  5. More reunion events • 50th reunion faculty of Medicine (class of 1959) • 25th reunion faculty of Medicine (class 1984)

  6. Cultural Events • Paganini Duo Concert at AUB a musical concert attended by 600 AUB alumni • Majida El Roumi concert attended by more than 5000 individual

  7. Summer Program for Children of AUB Alumni worldwide (July 2009) WAAAUB hosted the Summer Program for AUB Alumni Children (SPAAC) during the period July 6 – July 31, 2009. The summer 2009 program was open to children of AUB alumni throughout the world. The participants included 20 students from nine different countries between the ages 16 and 21.

  8. AUB Legacy Ceremony Ceremony and Reception with Deans for AUB Alumni parents and their children who began their 1st year at AUB. The event was attended by more than 180 AUB alumni parents and their Children (Sept 29)

  9. Goals and Strategies 2009-2010 • Reinstitute Young Alumni Travel Package; (2008’s package cancelled because of political turmoil) • With other Standing Committees, develop the Alumni Benefit Package • With REP, continue to oversee execution and promotion of the Summer Program • Continue to work on Reunion 2010

  10. Goals (cont’d.) • Assess the development of programs for specific age or affinity groups • Initiate programs/events to facilitate social and professional networking • Develop partnerships with organizations that will support WAAAUB activities • Promote the Programs Committee as service provider to alumni chapters worldwide
