Special Chapter Activities • Student Activities Committee presentations: UW-Madison, UW-Platteville and local High Schools • Sponsored six student scholarships • Technical Seminars before Chapter meetings • Energy Modeling Meetings
Success Stories • Star Chapter up and running • Can now pay by credit card. Reduced no-shows. • Energy modeling meetings • Six scholarships split between UW Madison and UW Platteville • Technical Sessions well attended
Lessons Learned • Need to follow-up with committee chairs regularly • Making sure venue for chapter meetings has suitable acoustics • BOG meetings held at regular times
Finances Finances are stable Added in Paypal as option to pay for chapter meetings. Add in web sponsorship for additional revenue Less no shows, minimal collection activities. Meal Revenue/ Expenses are down Some growing pains from new website but bugs are mostly worked out.
Membership Promotion Area assigned members = 253 Chapter dues paying members = 138 New members to date = 13 Delinquent members to date = 9 New student members = 23
Chapter Program Activities • One tour to UW ice rink arena • LEED Insider talked about modeling reviews • Technical programs are well attended • Diverse types of programs ranging from VRF to energy modeling • Attendance ranged from 34 to 45
Student Activities • Completed two presentations • UW Madison • UW Platteville • One student chapter night held on UW campus • Students are attending other chapter nights also
Chapter Technology Transfer • Presentations by an ASHRAE TC member: 3 • Technology Award submittals into chapter: 1 in 2011, 4 in 2012 • Technology Award submittals into regional and Society competition: 1 to both region and Society in 2011, TBD for 2012 • Regular monthly meetings with tech program: 3 tech sessions, and 9 chapter programs, all on tech topics • Chapter social events: 1
