  3. Jesus calms the storm • Jesus & His disciples got into a boat • A big windstorm … boat sinking! • The Lord was asleep … • “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

  4. “Peace, be still!”

  5. Jesus calms the storm “This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles” (Psalm 34:7)

Jesus calms the storm Why was Jesus sleeping? • When He became human like us, He needed sleep, food … • To teach His disciples to trust in God Did He know about the storm? • Yes, His divine nature never sleeps, He knows about everything at all times Why did He wait until His disciples call for help? • To test their faith, to teach them to trust in God

  7. Jesus calms the storm How did our Lord calm the storm? • He is the Master & Creator of all, He controls everything including nature • What does the STORM symbolize? • Sin/evil • Struggles/difficulties in life What are the storms in your life? • Struggles with lying, disobedience, hate,etc.

  8. Jesus calms the storm Remember … • God is with you in the storm, call on Him! • Don’t tell God how big your storm is, tell your storm how BIG your GOD is!
