SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS Given that # students in each year is : 1st :130-140 2nd:80-90 3rd: 60-65 Successful students will need to be: • Organized and a good time manager • Self motivated Hard worker (50-60 hrs/wk) • Creative, Imaginative • Interested in how things go together • Active and participatory in class

CONTEXT • ARCH 12356 is the introductory course in the architectural studio stream. • The objective of this course is to prepare you for designing a single family residence next semester in Architectural Studio 2. • History: this course began as a hard line drafting course but who does that anymore? • Evolution: it has evolved into an introduction to visual thinking and freehand drawing.

  11. IS DRAWING DEAD? • PREMISE: Computers are taking over the industry. They can create very photo-realistic images of buildings. There is no need to learn to draw with pencil and paper. DEBATE: Agree/ Disagree/ Why? • Go to is drawing dead?
