Ethical working includes respecting the basic principles & values that underpin practice.
Ethics can involve moral dilemmas e.g. whether to prolong life against the wishes of a terminally ill patient.
3. A person-centred approach This means the service user is at the centre of the care and support they are receiving.
This means they need to be included in the planning or decision making about their life.
4. Right to life It is a belief that a human being has a right to live and does not have the right to be killed by another person.
Euthanasia
Abortion
Capital punishment
There are many debates in Health & Social Care about Right to Life situations
Practitioners from different faiths and religious beliefs can find this hard.
5. An ethical dilemma Euthanasia is the deliberate ending of a persons life, usually at his or her own request.
It is illegal in Britain but allowed in other countries e.g. Switzerland.

Empathy is shown by the words you use and the way you speak to people.
