Joint Official PARTICIPATIONIN TRADE Fairs and exhibitions ABROAD • Project funded by EU funds and Czech state budget • Support of exporting Czech companies joining selected foreign trade fairs • Financial support – up to 5.000,- euro per trade fair • Non-financial support – joint promotion of Czech exhibitors • Close cooperation with state authorities and private companies • Companies must follow specific rules • The trade fairs priorities picked up by private sector, decision maker is Project executive committee

PROJECT INITIATION Where are the problems and needs / why such project ? • Exporting companies have specific funding needs • Lack of easy tools for using EU funds • Cutting the over-administrations of EU funds and bringing the support to the private companies • Improving tools for business and export support • Macroeconomic and microeconomic needs – support particularly to exporting enterprises and competition of Czech economy

PROJECT INITIATION and DEFINITION Implementing the problems and priorities of the Czech official EU funds policy – policy making process DEFINITION OF THE MAIN PROJECT‘S GOALS • Identifying the tools for the main problem-solving and reaching the goals (JOINT OFFICIAL TRADE FAIR & EXHIBITION) • Identifying the system for the tools used (USING THE TOOLS) • Finding the resources – EU funds and tools = European Regional Development Fund • Identifying the main indicators (no. of fairs and participants) • Finding the responsible state authorities for project planning = Ministry of Regional Development as the main authority for EU funds

  6. project planning Project planning: • Planning of project objectives • Budget planning • Planning of the timeline • Planning of indicators and exact definition (min. 100 fairs / 1400 participants in 3 years) • Definition of the links between indicators and budget (detailed budget planning) • Definition of responsible state authorities in charge of implementation (National Trade Promotion Agency – CZECHTRADE) • Rules for planning – what /who is eligible = eligible business sectors, companies, costs, rules for administration

PROJECT EXECUTION • SET UP of the responsible project team and project organisation structure • SELECTION of the main contractor responsible for project goals implementation – set up the rules for contractor selection(contractor - the Czech Chamber of Commerce) • SET UP of the execution process, controlling of the process and implementation, cash flow planning, rules for financing, etc. • SET UP of exact rules for companies‘ participation, methodology of project‘s goals fulfilment, monitoring statistics, etc. (Czech Chamber of Commerce) • SELECTION OF TRADE FAIRS– fairs proposed by enterprise associations, decision makers - Project executive committee

PROJECT CONCLUSION • Project period: 2010-2012 • Monitoring as a tool of improvement and evaluation/ not just rules control • Collection of the feedback, monitoring of the effectiveness • Project realisation and monitoring of the correct realisation – bringing up new ideas and experience that should be used for new projects • tougher or softer rules for companies? etc. • system of joint exhibition, etc. • Project evaluation / what should be better, how to prepare a new project, etc.
